MEGA, the Mechanical Engineering Graduate Student Association provides a representative voice for graduate students in Mechanical Engineering and encourages camaraderie and networking between students.   The activities of MEGA include:

• social and professional events to strengthen and enrich the mechanical engineering department,
• dissemination of information to incoming students regarding scholarship opportunities, stipend and tuition fellowship details, typical monthly expenditures, degree timelines and work expectations, and
• support for research-active students including sharing of information and expectations between laboratories, help with laboratory websites, formation of study groups for courses and for the doctoral qualifying exam, and practice thesis defenses.
